Im a lover for design and beautiful spaces. My first impression of a place is the way its represented, you could actually say I'm really a supehero of design. I can walk into any space and I will zone into every small detail that creates, compliments, and intrigues our many senses. Infact, its always sadden me when a room doesn't represents its fullest potential. Its like finding a one of a kind piece of artwork, and never displaying it- whats the point?. Yes, decor is an important ingredient to an excellent experience, and a memorable one at that. In this particular story, it was Studio 110s bathroom that needed an extreme creative makeover.
"The simple secret is making sure that every decorating decision contributes to the creation of beauty and comfort. Beauty to uplift our senses (to transcend the mundane) and comfort to make us feel taken care of (to embrace us in the mundane).” -Madame Needleman
When originally creating the space, I had an idea for the bathroom, but of course not allowing it to be my main focus, because come on..its a bathroom. I knew i didn't want anything cold or clinical, but nothing too memorable- I figured using a dark color on all walls would make it feel smokey and alluring. It worked well enough, but coming close to our year anniversary it was time for a major remodel.
Heres the bathroom before.
This past month, I have spent weeks pinning bathrooms, collaging ideas, and staring aimlessly at the home depot paint swatches, and honestly, slightly overwhelmed of my options.
So many directions, what do I choose?? Organic and earthy, dramatic and intense, simple and minimalist? I am a lover of all these directions, but not interested in doing a 2nd overhaul down the road. Needless to say, it had to be exactly perfect.
And then. EUREKA! I saw it. The most intriguing and mystical color that hit me like cupids arrow. I mean come on, any color that reminds us of the Emerald City of "The Wizard of OZ" has to be a sure hit.....
Thats right! Emerald Green. Delicious just looking at it huh? As we painted the walls it was obvious that the color was the centerpiece of the bathroom. A few accent colors of gold to richen the experience, and a gorgeous salmon colored Oriental rug to make it POP, and there you have it.
a mid century cart for display (I love anything whimsy).
Can you refer to a bathroom as sexy? because this one fits the bill. Come check out our space that always evolves with trends and inspiration. Trust me, the bathroom is not the highlight, but its a a pretty close second...
